Young Scholars’ Academy for Discovery and Exploration is a community of public learners who explores, discovers and informs the world in a socially responsible manner as producers, contributors, and agents of change.
The Mission
The Young Scholar’s Academy for Discovery and Exploration is a vibrant, safe and nurturing educational community. Our young scholars are part of a school community that fosters and values respect for all people. We are a community that empowers children to learn through the process of discovery and exploration and to think creatively and analytically. Our goal is for our students to blossom as authors, fine artists, mathematicians, critical readers, worldly historians, and responsible and thoughtful community members. Our standards-based curriculum recognizes that all children can learn when they have clear expectations and rigorous instruction. Our arts program gives us the opportunity to educate the whole child by combining the arts across the curriculum to create exciting learning experiences, which will enhance student engagement and maximize learning. In our school, children, teachers, administrators, parents, and support staff are part of a supportive community that works, learns, and grows together.

At the center of all the decisions that were part of the planning of Young Scholars Academy for Discovery and Exploration lie our core beliefs that children learn best from hands on experiences based on their interests and the natural process of discovery and exploration. Our rigorous curriculum, high expectations for all students and our commitment to parents as partners will be evident from the way we conduct business at Young Scholars Academy. We’ve designed systems and structures to ensure that all stakeholders are informed and accountable. Our strong Leadership Team is prepared to make the tough decisions that are necessary to ensure that our students are successful. Through our community partnerships, we will find creative ways to extend our students’ learning and to provide our families with support with in the community.
